PDP Mourns As Train Crushes Member To Death In Abraka
By Daniel Dafe
The death of a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Clement Emetoma, has thrown the party into a mourning state.
Clement was crushed to death by a train on Tuesday while going to his farm in one of the farming lands in Abraka.
Reacting to his death, a chieftain of the PDP and State Organizing Secretary, Chief Onoriode Sunday, who incidentally is from the same ward with the deceased, said the incidence still looks mysterious to him.
“Clement rode on his bike and had a deaf and dumb with him. How the deaf and dumb was able to escape and Clement was hit still looks shocking to me. Only God knows what really happened. A train moves with so much noise and is
big enough for everyone to see.
“It is strange. It is a big loss to PDP, most especially in my ward.”
While mourning late Clement, Onos said: “His death is a very sad one. It is difficult to get loyal people to work in this life and when you have one it is very painful that he dies just like that. He was very close to me. He is one of those that worked with me and can go into my bedroom. It is quite sad and a big loss to me, the family and community. “
He prayed that God accepts his soul.
Meanwhile, a guber aspirant for the 2023 elections in Delta State, Evangelist Akpo Ofomana, has described the death as painful and the handiwork of the devil.
“It is mysterious. Clement was crushed to death while the deaf and dumb who jumped off the bike, had one of his legs broken.
It’s a big loss for us in PDP especially Ward 3. He was very soft spoken and committed to the party,” the governorship hopeful added..
Oasis Magazine learnt that late Clement ran for councillorship in the last council elections. He was nominated by his party in the ward, but was disqualified because he had double registration.
He left behind a wife and four children.
