Nigeria’s Oldest Catholic Priest, Thomas Oleghe, Is Dead

Nigeria’s oldest Catholic priest, Thomas Oleghe, is dead.

Gabriel G. Dunia, Bishop of Auchi, said this in a statement on Sunday.

He said: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Rt. Rev. MSGR Thomas Oleghe, the oldest Catholic priest in Nigeria, at the age of 104.”

According to him, the deceased “went home to be with the Lord at 2:30am this morning, November 24, 2024.”

“Funeral arrangements will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024,” the statement concluded.
