Oborevwori Moves To Revoke Senate Building Contract In DELSU

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has instructed the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Nyerhovwo Johnbull Tonukari to initiate revocation proceedings for the abandoned Senate Building project of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka.
The University Visitor, Oborevwori gave this directive on Saturday, April 26, 2025, during the 17th Convocation ceremony of DELSU, Abraka, adding that it should be re-awarded to a capable contractor and ensure swift completion.
The directive is in response to Vice Chancellor Prof. Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba’s request to complete the Senate building, which has been abandoned for over 22 years.
The project aims to provide modern facilities for the university’s administration and governance.
