Transport Ministry Condemns Activities Of Touts, Extortionists In Delta

Delta State Ministry of Transport has condemned in strong terms all perceived illegal activities by touts and individuals engaged in the extortion of innocent Commercial Tricycle(Keke) and Motorcycle(Okada)Operators,Motorists,Commuters and even Transporters across the State.
A statement from the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Mr Onoriode Agofure, indicates that all illegal activities involving extortion, illegal Tax Forces amongst others, putting the Ministry in bad light will strongly be resisted.

The statement further adds that anyone caught in the act of collecting or issuing fake tickets and extorting innocent citizens will be dealt with decisively by prosecution.
In the same vein, for the umpteenth time the Ministry emphasized that the Profiling and Revalidation of Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Operators was for security purposes, the items to be issued to the Operators includes Apron,I.D cards and a Sticker(BarCode), at a cost of #7,500naira only.
Accordingly ,all law enforcement agents are on red alert to arrest and prosecute extortionist(s).
All Commercial Tricycle(Keke),Motorcycle(Okada)Operators,Motorists and Commuters,are to report all forms of extortion or abnormalities quickly to the Ministry or call our Desk Officer on 09063522324 or 08154087910.
