Osawota Appeals For Extension Of Ujevwu/Itakpe Railway Service To Abuja
By Ambrose Ologide
A renowned public opinion leader and a legal luminary, Chief Andi Kayoma Osawota, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to extend the Ujevwu/ Itakpe Railway Service to Abuja.
Osawota, an All Progressive Congress ( APC) stalwart who is also a publisher and multiple author made the appeal in an exclusive media interaction with our correspondent at his Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area residence last weekend.
He explained that the appeal was necessitated by the need to enhance the transportation system between Ujevwu in Delta State to the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Osawota noted that the Ujevwu/Itakpe railway transport system, is more useful in the transportation of passengers than the billets and rods from Ajaokuta Steel Complex in Delta State to Delta Steel Company in Delta State that it was originally meant for.
Osawota who decried the extreme deplorable state of roads in Delta State to Abuja and exorbitant air transportation fares from Delta State to Abuja, reasoned that the extension of the Ujevwu Itakpe Railway Service to Abuja will meet the desire of passengers.

Osawota complained about the moribund state of railway lines between Ujevwu and Itakpe as he appealed for the construction of a modern dual locomotive railway line between Ujevwu and Itakpe.
