NAPPS: Your Tenure Has Ended, You Have No Power To Suspend Delta Exco, Ikponmwen Tells Akpeme

“The attention of the office of the NAPPS National Vice President and President South-South zone has been drawn to the poorly addressed letter to the state chairman, NAPPS, Delta State chapter, dated on the 16th February 2026, purporting the NAPPS Delta State Executive suspension?”

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by Hon. Ekhosuehi Reuben Ikponmwen.

Recall that on Monday, online media reports quoted Dr. Ochuko Akpeme as suspending the said executive.

Reacting, Ikponmwen, added that the author of the said letter, Akpeme Ochuko, is the immediate past NVP/Zonal President, NAPPS South-South.

Adding: “By constitution, he has no constitutional and legal power to preside over NAPPS South -South meeting to the effect of suspending any officer from office.”

Continuing, he said “the action is therefore not only laughable but a breach of the constitution of NAPPS.”

He continued: “To prove his mediocracy, he cited a none existing constitution (2023) which does not in any way have bearing with his purported action.

“The office frowns at the action of Akpeme Ochuko (immediate past NVP) and warns that such action should not repeat itself else legal action will be taken to face the full wrath of the law.

“All NAPPS members are therefore advised to discountenance such purported suspension as it is null and void and of no effect. The peace and unity we enjoyed in South-South should be allowed to stay.”

Furthermore, all NAPPS members within the South-South geopolitical zone and Delta State in particular “to remain calm and law abiding as the peace and unity enjoyed in the south-South zone remain undiluted.”

Observers have said that the development portends great threat to the association, as Akpeme and Ikponmwen continue to lay claim to the position of National Vice President, South South.
