Power Supply Interrupted In Owerri, Yenagoa, Ahoada As TCN Battles Transmission Fault

Electricity supply to residents and businesses in Owerri, Yenagoa and Ahoada has been disrupted following a forced outage on the Alaoji 132kV Transmission Line, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the outage occurred at about 3:59 a.m. due to an earth fault and a distance protection failure on the transmission line.

TCN said its maintenance crew immediately mobilised to the site and is currently carrying out repairs to restore normal bulk power supply as quickly as possible.

The transmission fault has prevented the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) from off-taking electricity for distribution to customers across the affected cities, leaving thousands of consumers without power.

The company assured the public that every effort is being made to resolve the fault and restore electricity supply, while apologising to affected customers for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected outage.

TCN reiterated its commitment to maintaining a reliable transmission network and appealed for patience and understanding as repair works continue.
