Make Your Children Available For Sporting Activities, NUT Chairman Tells Parents

The Chairman, National Union of Teachers Association, Ethiope West Chapter, Comrade Ese Joy Agbroko, has advised parents and guardians to always make their children and wards available for sporting activities to enhance their academic performance.
Comrade Agbroko gave the advice at Oghara during the 2nd Annual Inter-House Sport Competition of Unik Kiddies Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools, Oghara.
The NUT Chairman who was a special guest at the competition, said that the only way children could be encouraged to do their best was to allow them to be involved in all round sporting activities.
She advised parents to encourage their children by providing them with all they needed to participate in sporting activities so that they would have the spirit of fulfillment and belonging amongst their mates.
She  advised schools that had not done same in sporting activities to do so now, so that they too would not be left out, seeing others performing very well.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Frank Osundu, who was represented at the event by Mr Oghenedoro Okuwhere, appreciated the management of the school, for their wonderful feat in organizing  the sports competition which he said, would not only transform the children but would also enhance their academic performance.
He also appreciated the management of Uherevwie Primary School, Oghara for making their field available for the event, just as he lauded members of the NUT Oghara chapter for their presence at the event including the various house patrons for supporting the school.
The proprietress of the school, Deaconess Mrs A. Eyaguobor, who was elated over the successful event, appreciated all who contributed towards the growth of the school since its inception in Oghara few years back.
She assured that Unik kiddies Nursery and Primary School, Oghara, was aimed at raising eminent men and women in the country that would contribute their quota towards the development and transformation of Nigeria.
She called on all and sundry to support their little effort so that in no time their vision and aspiration for Delta State and Nigeria in particular would have been achieved.
Mrs. Eyaguobor maintained that sports as an essential part of the school curricular activities provide for the physical well being of the pupils and students, saying that is why the Federal Ministry of Education in line with the national policy on education, ensured that sport activities were organized in schools.
According to her, “Sporting activities is a unifying factor and a vehicle through which Nigerians speak in one voice. I call on parents and guidance to always make their children and wards available at all times. This will make them (children) to always have that spirit of commitment to their studies.”
The event which saw dignitaries from all walks of life, ended with Green House retaining the first position with a total score of 135 points.
Red House came out second with 108 points and Pink House clinched the third position with 107 points.
