Atiku: Ex-Lawmaker Kicks Against Okowa’s VP Ambition, Says Governor Is Tribalistic, Clannish, Made Delta PDP Vulnerable
By Daniel Dafe
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Evans Ivwurie, has kicked against calls for the Governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to be made the running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The former Member, Delta State House of Assembly, representing Ethiope East Constituency, who spoke to journalists on Saturday, opined that “Okowa has provided an inefficient and ineffective social political and economic leadership for Delta State and rather than demote him, he should not be promoted to becoming the vice president of Nigeria because it will be of no benefit to Delta State or the Niger Delta.”
Adding: “That will only benefit his Owa-Alero and his Owa people. So, I dont have any form of doubt that he is completely Inept and also the way he has polarised the party with his vindictive leadership has made Delta PDP to be very vulnerable because of his poor leadership.”
He continued: “Just even imagining him to be a Senator talk more of being a vice president to the Federal Republic of Nigeria…of course, it is clear to everybody that he is very tribalistic, clannish and above all he is a serial betrayal and a deceiver. These are clear from the way he has treated Wike, James Ibori, Igbuya and also the way he has treated everybody who has any type of political association with him.”

“He is a viper, and as we know a viper is one of the deadliest snakes so he is a political snake.
My position are very clear on that,” he added.
According to him, “Okowa has not provided a leadership that is up to average in Delta State.”
“Leadership that has borrowed 150 billion just for him to execute his interest as vice president of Nigeria and for him to equip Delta State with a scoundrel as governor?” he quizzed.
“He is struggling to run his own tenure through somebody who is almost an illiterate and a tout and it is not going to work.
Speaking further, he said: “In a place like Delta where the minimum requirement of people who went to school in Delta State would be a Master Degree or Master of Science and you are bringing in a charlatan with over 5 names, 2 birth certificates and all kinds of questionable human being that does not even have the capacity to run the leadership in his own family to be the governor of Delta State.”
