DELSU SUG Presents N250, 000 To Student Involved In Accident, Receiving Treatment At UBTH

The Student Union Government, SUG of Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, on Tuesday presented the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250, 000) to a student, Esther Daniel, undergoing treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, Edo State.

Esther, a 300 Level student of the Department of Chemistry, was
involved in an accident at the Abraka police station junction recently.

She is said to have sustained a fractured neck and lost her ears after the incidence.

Esther was first rushed to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara and then referred to UBTH.

President of DELSU SUG, H.E SEN. Comr OKUPA CALEB OGAGAOGHENE, accompanied by some leaders of the Union left for Benin as early as 7a.m. to visit the said student.

Speaking to journalists, Okupa said: “The student union executive alongside some parliamentarians paid a courtesy visit to one of our dear students who was involved in an accident and was rushed to UBTH in Benin. The union deemed it fit to visit her as a way of expressing our support and also to pray for quick recovery.”

He continued: “The student is currently undergoing treatment and is in a much better state.”

To students of the institution, he said: “Don’t forget, you’re constantly surrounded by support; do well to get us involved in whatever is happening as the welfare and lives of our dear students is our utmost priority.”
