Gunmen Whisk Away CEO Mikolo TV In Sapele

Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening whisked away Comrade Michael Erute Ikuuh, Chief Executive Officer, Mikolo TV, Sapele, Delta State.

Oasis Magazine learnt that the gunmen stormed his office along Abeke Road after Concord Supermarket and whisked him away.

Speaking to the victim’s wife, Mrs. Hope Ikuh, late Thursday night, she confirmed the incidence, saying that at about 6p.m. on Thursday, her husband put a call to her through her children’s line, informing her that gunmen where in his office.

Her words: “He told me that unknown gunmen came to his office, showed him ID cards and they said they are DSS and that he should not talk. Even the person that was with him in the office wanted to know where they were taking him to, but he was asked to step aside. They handcuffed him and took him away. He then asked me to go and carry his car and lock the office up. He also told me where to collect the car key from.

“I was trying to find out the direction they were headed when he told me that they were taking him through Warri road. I was trying to ask him if they showed him ID card and why the arrest, when I heard the gunmen saying cut that call now. Ever since then his phones have been switched off.”

According to her, she was at the main station to find out if those that were at his office were there to inform the police of plans to arrest him.

Adding: “The police said nothing like that. I went to the Police Area Command, they said nothing like that. I even went to DSS office in Sapele, they said nothing like that.”

Meanwhile, she hinted that an hotel management in Sapele (name withheld) has been having an issue with the husband.

She said: “When he came home on Wednesday, he told me that there was one post in one of those blogs concerning the hotel. He said that one Barrister called him asking if he knows who operates Sapele Oghenekevwe. My husband told me that a publication was done by a blog that a corpse was buried in his business place, threatening to make arrest.”

She continued: “My husband does not operate a blog or a faceless Facebook page.”

Continuing, she called on the government and security operatives to help her search for her husband.

“We have three kids I can’t carry the responsibility alone,” she lamented.

In an emotional-ladened voice, she added, “I can’t sleep; I can’t eat and I am just entering the house now this late night. I don’t know where to go to and I don’t know who to call on. They should help me I want to hear from my husband.”
