End Hunger Protest: Ogedegbe Calls For Calm, Affirms Protest As Civil Right, Urges Non-Destruction Of Property

Ethiope East Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe JP, has called for calm amidst ongoing protests against hunger in the nation.

Recognizing the right of citizens to protest as a fundamental civil liberty, Ogedegbe urged demonstrators to exercise their rights responsibly.

Speaking to newsmen in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Hon. Ogedegbe emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order during the protests.

He added: “While it is your undeniable right to voice your concerns and demand action, it is equally important to do so without resorting to violence or destruction of property, he said.”

The Chairman acknowledged the grievances of the protesters, expressing empathy for their plight and assuring them that their voices are being heard.

“The challenges you are facing are not being ignored. We are committed to finding sustainable solutions to address hunger and improve living conditions for all residents of Ethiope East, Ogedegbe assured.

Hon. Ogedegbe concluded by calling on all protesters to remain peaceful and respectful of public and private properties.

In his words: “Let us work together to ensure that our actions today lead to a better tomorrow for everyone in Ethiope East. Protest peacefully, and let your voices be heard without causing harm or damage.

“On our part, this administration will do everything possible to give our people the very best of service delivery.”
