PRAY FOR LEADERS- Delta’s Deputy Speaker Akpowowo
Asaba,Deputy Speaker Delta State House of Assembly Rt Hon (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo Esq has called on Christians to continually pray for leaders in Government.
Akpowowo made this call during his fraternal greetings at the 44th Annual Conference of the Baptist Men’s Missionary Union,held at the Christian Center of the Christian Association of Nigeria,Delta State Chapter,Asaba.
In a concise and thoughtful speech,Rt Hon Akpowowo averred that it is easy to criticize when outside but very difficult to walk the talk when power is given. “Pray for us in power especially our dear Governor Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori who means well for Deltans ,the Deputy Governor,the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and all those elected and appointed to serve the people of Delta State.“ He said. “It is easy to Promise and say a lot of things when you are speaking from outside,it is a different thing entirely when you are inside. As leaders,we all need your prayers to succeed” Akpowowo stated.

The Member Representing Ethiope East State constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly Rt Hon Akpowowo also admonished the men of the Baptist Missionary Union not to be scared of their stay in the State capital as there is peace and security in State,courtesy of the effort of His Excellency the Governor who is so intentional in ensuring that the State is peaceful and conducive for both indigenes and visitors to stay.
Earlier in his welcome address,the President of the Men’s Missionary Union Dr Sove Peniel Asawo,,admonished Christians in offices to be upright and portray characters of true Christians as “a politician cannot steal public funds without the help of Permanent Secretaries and Directors”. Hence,he advised Christians to continue to uphold integrity.
Also in attendance at the 44th Annual Conference,is the Executive Governor of Delta State Rt Hon Elder Sheriff F O Oborevwori,ably represented by the chaplain of Government House,Asaba.
