Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom PG, Management Forum Clash Over Abraka Main Market

The President General (PG), Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom, Okakurho Tedwins
Emudainohwo recently resisted members of Management Forum from planting a
signboard around the market premises with caption ‘Abraka Main Market’,
when the group embarked on carrying out some community based services in
the University town of Abraka.
According to the President-General, the caption ought to read ‘Abraka Main
Market (Ekrejeta-Abraka) since the land was donated by Ekrejeta Community,
adding that Erho, Urhuovie and Urhuoka have their markets located in their
localities.
Also, while responding to questions from Oasis Magazine (OM), Emudainohwo
commended Management Forum for embarking on sand-filling the Abraka main
market in Ekrejeta, making the signboard available and parching potholes in
major roads in the town.
Continuing, he disclosed that the decision to stop the planting of the
signboard was made by the traditional ruler of the kingdom, when he
(Tedwins) consulted with him and other community leaders at the palace of
the royal father after an observer reported to him.
“This was the message I came to convey before some members of Management
Forum who are ignorant and do not know our history tried to resist the
decision.
“When it involves things like planting a signpost, the wordings should be
approved by the king, even though we know it is your money,” he stressed.
The Chairman of the group, Mr. Jefferson Oruoghorie has however distanced
himself and Management Forum from what transpired on the said day, saying
that it was an internal community issue and expressed confidence that it
will be resolved.
He opined that the community needs to unite if they want to experience
progress.
Visibly angry members were seen leaving the scene; as they went on to carry
out their other programmes for the day.
At the time of filing this report, the correction had been effected on the
signboard and was seen standing at the market premises.
