B y Phil Abha
Ahead of the total lockdown which begins in Delta State ,12 midnight today, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has advised traders and owners of other business concerns, to switch off all electrical and electronic appliances in their shops and offices before closing for today’s business.
Dr. Tidi, also stressed the need to move out flammable materials such as Petrol, Kerosene and Diesel from shops and offices as the zero hour for the COVID-19 lockdown inches closer, saying the warning became necessary to avoid fire-outbreaks capable of worsening the already challenging economic situation.
According to the Chairman, switching off electrical and electronic appliances in the shops, offices and workshops for the two weeks the lockdown will last, could also help to boost electricity supply to other homes since energy used in the affected business concerns would be saved.
While emphasizing the need for people of Warri South Local Government Area to obey the stay – at – home order and adhere to the advice on social distancing as preventive measure against Coronavirus, Dr. Tidi sued for extra vigilance against all forms of crime and criminality during the two-week lockdown.
