Bishop Oyedepo Rains Curses On People Who Blaspheme Churches In Nigeria

Blasphemy has been a popular word in Nigeria since a young female student was beaten, stoned and burned by a group of angry youths in Sokoto State. Many people have tried to define what blasphemy really is and the punishment it should carry from the holy books of the two major religions in Nigeria. Some, however, have been releasing statements condemning the evil actions of the mob.

Meanwhile, Bishop David Oyedepo has laid some dangerous curses on people he termed “blasphemers of the church of Christ in this nation.” He laid these curses as he closed the Covenant Hour of Prayer meeting today.

He quoted 2 Thessalonians 1:6, which says;

“Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;”

According to him, God likes to bring trouble to anybody who tries to bring trouble to his church. For example, God brought trouble to Egypt because they brought trouble to the children of Israel.

Before he began to curse, he read from 1 Timothy 1:20, which says;

“Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”

“Every blasphemer of the church of Christ in this nation is delivered to Satan,” he cursed as the congregation burst out in loud shouts of amen.

“They shall smell. They shall stink. Their memory shall be wiped off,” the Bishop declared.

He went on to declare that on Sunday, it will be clear that the God of vengeance has arisen, not just for his church, but for his people.

“Every uprising against your stand for Christ comes under judgement,” he concluded.

The Bishop explained that Jesus taught us to pray vengeance prayers. To back up his statement, he read from Luke 18:1-8, which says;

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.”

He urged his congregation to keep praying vengeance prayers against the forces of wickedness, because if vengeance was not executed, the wicked will continue in their wickedness.

“We’re in a battle against the forces of darkness, and we know what we carry,” the Bishop said.
