Okowa Has Concluded Plans To Move DELSU Law Faculty From Oleh, Impose New Bursar On DSUST –Oliver

Publisher, Secret Reporters, Comrade Fejiro Oliver, has said that the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has concluded plans to move the Faculty of Law of the Delta State University, DELSU, Oleh Campus to Delta North Senatorial district.

In a Facebook post on Saturday titled: ‘Isoko, this is for you… Okowa strikes‼’, the publisher added that the governor will also impose a new bursar in the Delta State University of Science and Technology, DSUST.

He said that the position of Bursar was advertised and applications came in, adding that a Council Committee did the shortlisting and two persons were qualified to be invited for interview.

He continued: “Council Chairman and Commissioner for Higher Education then informed Council that since the Governor’s candidate, Okoh Sylvester Kanoyo was NOT qualified, the advert should be repeated. ABSURD!

“A second advert was foolishly done and pronto, the Governor’s candidate was now moved from NOT Qualified to Qualified.

“And interview is on Monday.”

He alleged that “Professor Aghalino, who was part of the original shortlisting, refused to participate in the second stage-managed shortlisting.”

“The Big Plan is to ensure that since the other two new universities have Delta Northerners as Bursar; Ozoro the third one, must also have someone from Delta North as Bursar.

“The Chairman of Council, Godson Echegile, an Owa Alero man, made sure that an Ika Man was appointed Bursar at Agbor,” he said.

According to him, “just because of one man’s interest, an advert had to be repeated and the rules had to be broken; merit had to be thrown out of the window.”

Furthermore, Oliver said that “once Sylvester Okoh emerges as Bursar, alongside the VC, the Law Faculty in Isoko will be moved to Owa-Oyibu, citing security reasons and the Bursar will approve money speedily for such.”

At the time of filing this report, a government official who hails from the area, reacted to the post.

While dismissing Oliver’s claims, he stressed that it was mere propaganda.

“Isoko people love the Law Faculty so much and have invested much financially to keep it going. It is impossible to move it. If Okowa does that, it will be stirring the hornet’s nest,” he opined.`

Meanwhile, PDP faithful from the area have said that this was an arrangement by the opposition to scuttle the planned Peoples Democratic Party ward to ward campaigns in the area.
