By Agare Williams
Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka will on Wednesday elect new leaders to pilot the affairs of the Students’ Union Government.
The election which is about to hold manually today (Wednesday) is about to kickoff in Site 3.
Recall that the management of the institution cancelled the 2022/2023 SUG election that was to hold on Thursday, 27th July, 2023 due to a glitch in the voting sites.

The electronic voting portal was to open automatically by 10:00am on July 27th, 2023 to allow students access the site and vote candidates of their choice.
Unfortunately, every attempt to cast their votes proved abortive with a pop-up message ” You seem to be in a low network area, please try again after something
According to some DELSU students who preferred to remain anonymous, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the e-voting election process, saying last year, SUG election was the same story and today is another story, and thus appealed to the university management to do the needful or go back to physical voting system which is more guarantee.
Observers hope that at the end of today, new leaders would have been elected to take over from the Okupa-led executive.
