NURTW Dissolves Odion Olaye Executive, Constitutes 16-Man c/Caretaker Committee In Edo
The National Union of Road Transport Workers have dissolved the Chief Olaye Odion led Executive in Edo State.
This was contained in a Press release signed by the National Secretary of NURTW Comrade Kayode Agbeyangi and made available to Newsmen in Benin City.
According to the statement, the dissolution arised from the Court Judgment restraining Chief Odion Olaye from parading himself as the Chairman of NURTW in Edo State as his tenure has long expired after 19 years as Chairman of the Union.
The statement further revealed that 16 persons have been constituted in accordance with Article 42, section 7, subsection (I) of the union constitution and to be inaugurated soon.
Members who were inaugurated are Chairman, Mr. Saturday Oamen, Deputy Chairman, Anthony Osemobor, Vice Chairman, Sampson Oviawe , Vice Chairman, Peter Iyase, Vice Chairman, Henry Omogbon, State Publicity Secretary, Godwin Akhimie, Assistant State Secretary, God’s power Ugbomon, State Organizing Secretary, Osasu Eke, State Treasurer, Osarenti Igbinoghene, Deputy State Treasurer, Sunday Ighodaro, State Fin. Secretary, Godwin Ogihagbe State Auditor Nosa Adenya, Asst. State Auditor , Abiodun Ayonotte, State Trustee 1, Braimoh Salami, State Trustee 2 , Zakawanu Garuba and Trustee 3 Johny Imafidon respectively.
The statement added that the Caretaker Committee shall be in office pending the election of a new Executive.
