Rena Wakama Crowned Top Coach At Paris 2024 Olympics

Rena Wakama, head coach of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, has been honored as the best female basketball coach at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced her recognition through their official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday.

Wakama, who made history as the first Nigerian woman to coach a national basketball team, led D’Tigress to an impressive quarter-final berth at the Olympics. This milestone marks the first time any African team, male or female, has reached this stage of the competition.
