Governor Diri Hails Ebizi Brown As Model Of Competent Female Leadership

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described the member representing Sagbama Constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Chief Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, as a rare example of competent female leadership, praising her outstanding performance and commitment to public service.

The governor gave the commendation during a reception held in Yenagoa to celebrate the lawmaker’s 60th birthday anniversary.

Represented by his deputy, Dr. Peter Akpe, Governor Diri said Mrs. Ebizi Brown’s achievements and track record in public office distinguished her as one of the competent women capable of driving meaningful development.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting women’s participation in politics, stressing that government would continue to support initiatives that encourage more women to seek elective positions.

“As a government, we will continue to identify with advocacy and other efforts encouraging women to come into politics. But I want to use this opportunity to encourage women to present their best,” he said.

“We need competent women like Ebizi Brown who can do the job; women that can deliver and move our society forward. Women like her are rare to find. Her track records are there and I know she will continue to deliver.”

Earlier at a thanksgiving service held at the Divine Grace Model Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Kpansia, Yenagoa, Dr. Akpe preached on the theme, “From Strength to Strength,” describing the celebrant as an embodiment of God’s grace.

Drawing from Isaiah 40:31 and other scriptures, he urged Christians to depend on God as the ultimate source of strength, noting that divine renewal empowers believers to accomplish impactful assignments and overcome life’s challenges.

The deputy governor also described attaining the age of 60 as a significant milestone, commending Mrs. Ebizi Brown for returning thanks to God and praying for continued good health and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.

Chairman of the reception, Vice Admiral Victor Ombu, lauded the celebrant for upholding the cherished values of her family and making her mother, Mrs. Grace Ndiomu, and her late father, Major General Charles Ndiomu, proud.

In her remarks, Chief Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown expressed appreciation to Governor Diri, Deputy Governor Peter Akpe, colleagues, friends, and members of her parental and marital families for honouring and celebrating with her.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor’s wife, Dr. Favour Akpe, former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Sir Gabriel Toby and his wife, Dame Christy Toby, former Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Chief Peremobowei Ebebi, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Chief Abraham Ingobere, members of the State Assembly, the Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye, President of Azikel Group, Dr. Azibapu Eruani, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, APC State Chairman, Hon.
