Group Congratulates Atiku, Canvasses Support For Him

A non-governmental pressure group, South-South Atiku/Obi Support Base, has congratulated former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on his emergence as the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP which held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

In a statement signed by King Para Ekiyes and Barr. E.K. Ebis, Chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively, they urged Nigerians to come out en masse to support Alahaji Atiku Abubakar during the coming presidential elections.

The group stated that it is only a trusted and tested combination like this that can save the country from poverty and insecurity.

The group also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to avoid being partisan to any candidate or political party.

The group vowed to mobilize thousands of its followers and the South-South region to vote for the former Vice President and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi which they described as the solution for a better Nigeria.

Meanwhile, South-East Governors on Saturday expressed shock over Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s choice of Peter Obi as his running mate for the 2019 presidential election.

Daily Post reports that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the zone took same stand.

Their position was made known by the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum and governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi.
