Identify With Urhobo Nation, Delta, Nigeria, Duku II Urges Urhobos In Diaspora

The Orovworere (traditional ruler) of Effurun Otor Kingdom, HRM Rotarian Dr. King Duku II, has urged Urhobos in Diaspora to always identify with Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria.
The traditional ruler gave the charge while playing host to Akpere- Olomu born Professor Duke Ophori at his palace in Effurun Otor recently.
He praised Professor Ophori for his assistance to Urhobos, Deltans and Nigerians seeking university admission in the United States and his passion for the affairs of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) America.
“I never knew him (Professor Ophori) but his goodness to the Urhobos, Deltans and Nigerians in the United States attracted him to me. His passion for the affairs of Urhobo Progress Union, America is commendable.
“He is an academic of world repute. When he speaks on water management, the world would respond. Such a distinguished personality deserves to be honoured,” Duku II stated.
The Effurun Otor monarch then urged other Urhobos in Diaspora to borrow a leaf from his royal guest in his goodness to Nigerians and patriotism to Urhobo Nation.
In his response, Professor Ophori who is of the Department of Earth and Environmental Studies, Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, New Jersey, United States of America (USA) thanked the traditional ruler for the hosting, noting that it was the greatest honour in his life.
While promising that the honour would spur him to do more for Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria, he called for the unity of the Urhobos, stressing that if Urhobos were united, they would get what they want.
The Okobaro (traditional ruler) of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM Owhawha II and other distinguished guests who spoke at the occasion, praised the Effurun Otor monarch for honouring Professor Ophori with the hosting.
While noting that the honour would spur Urhobos in Diaspora to emulate Professor Ophori, they urged Professor Ophori to sustain his good works for Urhobos, Deltans and Nigerians in general.
