Funkekeme Sets Up Committee To Investigate Petition Against Ohanaeze Indigbo President

The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, yesterday inaugurated a five-man ad-hoc committee to investigate the petition against the President of Igbo extraction of the State Chapter of Non-Indigene Association, Chief Mike Eze, over inappropriate conduct and misrepresentation of the association.
The petitioners, who passed a vote of no confidence on the president, alleged that the 2019 Christmas gifts that the state government gave to the association were diverted by Chief Mike Eze and other unknown persons purported to represent the association.
The committee is mandated to study the claims of the petitioners against Chief Mike Eze, the attendant beneficiaries of the 2019 Christmas gift and any matter that may arise in the course of the investigation and make appropriate recommendation.
The Committee which has two weeks to submit its report has Chief Peter Idion, an Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, as Chairman.
Other members of the committee include Sir Austin Onianwa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, member; Chief Tony Ogbo, SSA, Member; Chief Godday Ngbabego, SSA, member and Mr. Julius Ugbeye-Emodo, Asst Dir, as secretary.
