Sapele NUJ Visits, Confers Grand Patron Honour On Arthur Okowa

The Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Sapele Correspondents’ Chapel, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, paid a familiarization visit to High Chief Pa O.U. Arthur Okowa, in Owa-Alero, Agbor, Delta State, as the union appointed him as a Grand Patron.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Nelson Agbajor, the Union’s Secretary, thanked High Chief Arthur Okowa for receiving the delegation of journalists, while introducing members of the Union to him.
The Chairman, Comrade Godwin Oghre who spoke on behalf of the Union said the purpose of the visit was to identify with the father of the state, High Chief Arthur Okowa, while commending him for his astute leadership and developmental drive that has helped to catapult Delta State, especially Ika North Local Government Area to great heights.
He added that the Union was indeed pleased to partner with such a great man.
Comrade Godwin Oghre speaking accordingly, pledged the unalloyed support of the members of the Union to the administration of Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
Comrade Stephanie Ikanone who also spoke in the same vein appreciated High Chief O.U. Arthur Okowa for raising a good son, adding that the good values he inculcated in his son has helped to groom him to be one of the finest governors Delta State has ever produced.
Comrade Stephanie Ikanone posited that Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s achievements and uncommon interest in the well-being of the people can be credited to Pa O.U. Okowa.
The Union also presented a certificate of Grand Patron to Pa Arthur Okowa.
Pa Arthur Okowa expressed joy over the visit, as he warmly received members of Sapele NUJ.
He said: “I thank you my children for coming to visit and familiarize yourselves with me. I am indeed delighted to receive members of the fourth estate of the realm. I thank you for partnering with me and making me your Grand Patron. I want to assure you that you are free to visit my abode whenever you deem it fit. I will always give you my support.”
Other journalists who were in the entourage include Comrade Hope Akaezue, Comrade Rita Daniel, Comrade Uyono Esada, Comrade Dorothy Egwe and Daniel Dafe Umukoro.
