Edo Guber: Oba Of Benin Congratulates Obaseki, Applauds Buhari, INEC
On his victory in the Edo gubernatorial election, Governor Godwin Obaseki has received royal congratulations from the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II.
The monarch in a statement by the secretary of Benin traditional council, Frank Irabor, said that as a non-partisan traditional ruler, he rejoices with the governor on his re-election.
The Oba of Benin also praised the people of Edo for clearly and loudly making their choice in the just-concluded poll.
Oba Ewuare also praised all the governorship candidates across political parties in the state and their supporters for adhering to his advise on ensuring a violence-free election.
The statement read: “On behalf of the Oba of Benin, the Benin Traditional Council wishes to congratulate Governor Obaseki on his re-election for a second term.

“The Oba of Benin thanks all the candidates for adhering to the advice for a violent-free election given to them during the peace meeting in the Oba’s palace before the election, which has been widely-acclaimed to have doused the tension that was building up before the poll.”
The Oba also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring free and violence-free election as a way to prove his love for democratic processes.
He also thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its peaceful and smooth conduct of the election.
