COVID-19: Akwa Ibom PDP Chairman Is Dead
The chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State Udo Ekpenyong has died from COVID 19 related complications.
He was elected as chairman of the state PDP in July 2020 after resigning as Commissiononer for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to contest for the position.
An official statement from the party and government is yet to be released.

This comes as the state is still mourning the death of the late chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, and former military governor of the state, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (Retired).
Nkanga died on Christmas eve also from Covid-19 complications.
