Delta Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Two Victims In Oghara

Two kidnapped victims, Solomon Otomierewo of Ibori road, Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State and his girlfriend, Rukewe Urhiephroune, have been rescued by the Oghara Police Division after they were abducted by four armed men while returning to their house on Monday.

Oasis Magazine (OM) learnt that the kidnappers are said to have blocked the victim’s unregistered Mercedes GLK and taken them to a bush along Koko road.

According to a statement by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, the Divisional Police Officer in the said area, CSP Jimoh Hassan, swung into action after he learnt of the incidence.

Jimoh is said to have swiftly mobilized patrol teams, vigilantes and anti cults to the bush where the lovers were taken to by their captors.

According to the statement, the kidnappers on sighting the headlights of the police patrol vehicles all ran to different direction, abandoning the victims.

Thus, the police were able to rescue the victims unhurt.

Meanwhile, through technical intelligence, the victim’s Mercedes benz GLK was later traced to Oviore near Isiokolo in Ethiope East Local Government Area where with the assistance of the army, two of the suspected kidnappers, Oghenetewhe (surname unknown) and Gift (surname unknown) were arrested and the vehicle recovered from them.

Investigation is ongoing and manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is on top gear.
