Delta CP, EA To Okowa On Police Relations Bag ‘Recognition Award’

The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Police Relations, Chief (Amb.) Deaconess Odet Odjuvwumiderhi JP, has bagged a ‘Recognition Award’ in honour of her “selfless efforts, philanthropic gestures and excellent performance towards the upliftment and development of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Nigeria.”
The presentation was made by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Department of Research and Planning) and Theatre Commander, Operation Restore Peace, South South Zone, DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh and the National Chairman, PCRC, Ambassador (Dr.) Faruk Maiyamathe on behalf of the national body of PCRC recently during the two-day zonal security capacity building workshop that took place in Delta and Edo states.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Ari Mohammed Ali was also presented a ‘Recognition Award.’
According to the organizers, CP Ari has operated an open door policy to Deltans and the PCRC since he assumed office, adding that he has shown determination in tackling crime and criminality in the state which is yielding positive results.
Adding that Deaconess Odet is a popular name when it comes to supporting the police in the state and also a prominent voice that has led to the success of PCRC in Delta, Zone 5 and Nigeria at large.
Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM), Deaconess Odet popularly known as Madam Bravo who is also the Chairman, Zone 5, PCRC, said the award given to her was a great nudge to motivate her to do more for the state and Nigeria as a whole.
She said: “They deemed it fit to give me an award that I have done so well in helping to assist the police and the public. I am happy with the award and I believe God will give me the strength to do more and also hope the police will do more to reduce crime to the lowest rate possible in the state.”
According to her, “PCRC is working relentlessly to make sure that there is sustained peace in Delta State,” adding that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is very security-conscious and that this has made him provide the police command with vehicles from time to time to enable them carry out their duties effectively.
She used the medium to commend the CP for his doggedness in combating crime and criminality, saying he has been very proactive.
