Otefe Poly Gets ICAN Waiver
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a professional body responsible for the certification and licensing of Accountants in Nigeria has given a waiver to Accountancy graduates of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara. With this waiver, Accountancy graduates of the Polytechnic will skip the preliminary stage of ICAN professional examinations.
The approval for the waiver came following series of visits to the Polytechnic by ICAN Team to assess facilities on ground. In Nigeria, only few private and public institutions enjoy this waiver.
The Rector, Engr. Prof Emmanuel A. Ogujor (JP) thanked ICAN profusely for finding the Polytechnic worthy for the honor.
He dedicated the waiver to the Polytechnic Visitor, H.E. Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Executive Governor of Delta State for his unrelenting support to the Polytechnic. He commended members of the Management Team, Staff and Students for providing the enabling environment for the waiver.

Prof Ogujor went further to state that the ICAN waiver did not come as a surprise, stressing that on two consecutive occasion, the NBTE rated the Polytechnic as No.1 Best in Delta State, 7th amongst state owned Polytechnic, and 20th among Federal, State, and Private Polytechnic in Nigeria.
“Our sterling records is a practical demonstration of what we are doing here… We will not relent in our efforts in making Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara a cynasure and destination for those seeking technical education in Nigeria.”
