Tribunal Sacks Imo PDP Rep Member, Orders Fresh Election To “Exclude” PDP
The National and state houses of assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Owerri and Nasarawa state has sacked the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Ideato North, South Federal Constituency, Imo state, Ikenga Ugochinyere, who emerged winner in the February 25, 2023 general election.
The three-man panel lead by Justice Anthony Akpovi while delivering judgment held that the primaries that produced Ugochinyere as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party was illegal, null and void, as it did not take place withing the constituency as stipilated by law.

The three-man panel however ordered that a supplementary election be conducted within 90 days between other parties who participated in the elections except Ugochinyere and the Peoples Democratic Party.
