Oasis Chapel, ICAN To Hold Spelling Bee Competition For Schools In Ethiope East

Oasis Magazine chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in collaboration with the Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Abraka and District will host this year’s Spelling Bee competition for secondary schools in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State in the month of October.
According to a statement on Friday by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Rev. (Dr.) Roland Orogun, the contest will take place in Abraka, Eku and Isiokolo, adding that the final will be held in Abraka amongst the best five schools from each of the locations.

Continuing, he said that cash prizes will be won, just as he disclosed that consolation prizes will be given to students and schools that may not be on the list of the three overall best performing schools.
Furthermore, he called for support from well-meaning Deltans, noting that the said competition will help motivate students to be committed to their academic work.
“We will be visiting would-be sponsors in September,” he concluded.
