NUJ Delta Congratulates Prof. Ijeh On Appointment As UNIDEL DVC

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated Prof. Patrick Nkemdilim Ijeh on his appointment and ratification as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL) Agbor.

A statement signed by Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman and Comrade Josephine Omodior, Acting Secretary, added that “the Council’s appointment, ratified by the UNIDEL Governing Council, is a clear testament to Prof. Ijeh’s academic excellence, administrative competence and outstanding contributions to the growth and governance of the University.”

“Until his elevation, Prof. Ijeh served meritoriously as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and is a seasoned scholar in the Department of Mass Communication, with a strong record in teaching, research, curriculum development and academic leadership.

“As an associate member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, Prof. Ijeh has consistently identified with the ideals of professional ethics, responsible communication and the advancement of the journalism profession,” the statement said.

Continuing, NUJ Delta State Council also acknowledged Prof. Ijeh’s reputation for integrity, meritocracy and transparency, values which the union said align with “the core principles of responsible leadership and institutional development.”

Adding: “The Council has confidence that Prof. Ijeh will bring his wealth of experience, collegial leadership style and scholarly depth to bear in advancing the vision and mission of UNIDEL.”

“Once again, NUJ Delta State Council congratulates Prof. Patrick Ijeh and wishes him a successful and impactful tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor,” the statement concluded.
