The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Delta State, Chief Great Ogboru, has said that PDP and APC are using his name to create an unhealthy political atmosphere in the State.

Recall that recently, there were media fireworks between .the PDP and the APC.

While supporters of Agege alleged that Ogboru was aligning and planning to support the governorship candidate of the PDP, Sheriff Oborevwori, PDP opined that Agege and Ogboru are no match for the PDP.

Reacting in a press statement on Monday, the Sunshine Media Team ( Ogboru Campaign Organization), said there was no olkan for Ogboru to step down.

According to the statement, Chief Ogboru “does not need anyone to speak on his behalf about his views of Omoagege or Oborevwori.”

The statement continued: “For the avoidance of doubt, Chief Great Ogboru is a far more superior candidate in every respect to Senator Omoagege and the Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to consider ever stepping down for either or both. If anything, both of them ought not to be thinking of contesting against Ogboru at all.”!

“The records speak for themselves. But if they cannot do this minimal requirement of respect by stepping down by reason of status and leadership, then they must be constructive in the presentation of their campaign messages, devoid of irresponsible behaviour. They should simply present their opinions to the electorate to decide.

“These acts of
hooliganism and vandalism of tearing and pulling down of bill boards, defacing of posters and gross misrepresentation of facts, etc as perpetrated by opponents must stop forthwith.

“We enjoin candidates and stakeholders to be issue based and focus attention more on critical questions that bedevil the state and encourage supporters to do same.”

Meanwhile, .Ogboru warned that he will, as usual respond emphatically and appropriately with facts and necessary action where the situation demands.

“Finally, we reiterate the desirability for peace to reign and let the people decide willingly and freely who should lead them in Delta state,” the statement concluded.
