By Ambrose Ologide
The President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) Worldwide, High Chief Abovi Hope Erute, has hailed the 1st Vice President of the union, Chief Roberts Ekemejewa Akpojovwo for his election as the chairman Nigerian Legion, Delta State Council.
Erute made the applause in a media chat with our correspondent at his office along Petroleum Training Institute ( PTI) Road, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area last weekend.
” His election as the chairman of Nigerian Legion in Delta State attest to the fact that we at the UGIU are effective people.
” His election speaks volumes about the caliber of people here in UGIU. We are bounch of experienced people.
” We are not just here because we have nothing to do,” he added
Erute however advised his first vice president to positively impact on lives of legionians in Delta State by reaching out to the nooks and crannies of Delta State to look for something for them to do as service officers in government and corporate organizations.
Erute noted that a lot of legionians in Nigeria are living in poverty.
He therefore urged Chief Roberts Ekemejewa Akpojovwo to ensure that they are gainfully and meaningfully engaged with positions.
