Man Allegedly Linked To Abeke, Onyemechi Kidnappings Identified, Police Deny Claims
A man identified as Clement Abanara, popularly known as “Millions,” has been alleged to be behind the abduction of the Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, Hon. Bright Abeke.
The suspect is also accused of involvement in the earlier kidnap of Joan Mrakpor Onyemechi, further raising concerns over a pattern of high-profile abductions in Delta State.
According to information circulating online, security operatives have reportedly taken the suspect’s wife and mother into custody as part of ongoing investigations.
However, authorities are yet to issue an official statement confirming the allegations or the identities of those involved.

The claims were made public by activist Fejiro Oliver, who did not provide further details at the time of reporting.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the claims could not be confirmed.
“It is not confirmed. There are a lot of political distractors who may want to create confusion around this matter. People just wake up and create stories from nowhere,” he added.
He also debunked allegations that the suspect’s mother and wife had been arrested, insisting that such action would be unlawful.
“The command is still on the trail of the perpetrators, so the issue of arresting the man’s mother and wife is not correct. That would be unlawful,” he stated.
Providing an update on the investigation, Edafe said security operatives were focused on tracking down the kidnappers and had yet to establish their identities.
“As of about 9 p.m. yesterday, I was in communication with the Area Commander. We are working on concrete leads, and it has nothing to do with arresting anyone’s family. We have not even established any identity yet,” he said.
