Language Teachers Tasked On Improvement Of Teaching Skills
Teachers of Nigerian and foreign languages have been told to improve on their teaching skills.
The call was made by the Dean, School of Languages, College of Education, Agbor, Dr Augustine Eziechine, at the Schools 1st National Conference with the theme, “Language, Literature and Nation Building.”
Dr Eziechine stated that there was an increasing need for language teachers to improve their teaching skills to enhance student’s learning capability and further efficient language studies in Nigeria.
He described the event as historic and unprecedented, noting that he had no doubt that the conference would impact positively on all the participants through the illumination of what he coined the priceless treasures encoded in linguistic and literacy disciplines.
He observed that the event was designed to provide scholars from different disciplines and academic for a for cross fertilization of ideas.
“Again we have in our midst teachers of English, French, and some Nigerian languages and their literatures who are ready to introduce model approaches, principles, methods
that will be geared towards improving language studies in Nigeria,” he added.
