Shehu Sani Kicks Against Moves To Scrap NYSC
By Daniel Dafe, Abraka
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has condemned moves by the House of Representatives to scrap the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), saying that it should not be scrapped.
Reports said the Bill to scrap the scheme had scaled second reading in the Green Chambers.
While some Nigerians applauded the move, saying the insecurity situation in the country was enough reason to scrap the progranme, Sani thinks otherwise.
In a tweet on Monday, Senator Sani opined that NYSC is “needed now more than ever before.”

Adding: “Many Nigerians have never known anywhere other than their hometown and University town if not for NYSC. Its mandate should be expanded to give participants full military training in the face of insecurity.”
