DTSG, NIPCO Sign MoU For Establishment Of CNG Station In Asaba

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, along with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, and the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Onoriode Agofure, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the state government with NIPCO Gas Limited for the establishment of a compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Asaba.

The Chief Operating Officer of NIPCO, Mr. Sanje Tarat, signed on behalf of the company.

Speaking after the signing of the MoU, Mr. Ohwovoriole urged the company to provide value for money by ensuring high standards in the execution of the project.

Earlier, the SSG, Dr. Emu, stated that the initiative was a deliberate effort by the state government to create a facility in Asaba where people could convert their petrol-powered vehicles to CNG.

Dr. Emu encouraged the company to make optimal use of the allocated site for the station while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, assured that, in due course, CNG stations would also be established in Warri and other parts of the state.
